Many people find a sense of comfort and solace in the physical reminders of their lost loved ones. A necklace made from ashes is an excellent way to honor your beloved and keep them close. The unique piece of jewelry contains a discreet compartment that holds a small portion of your loved one’s cremated remains. Whether you are looking for a simple pendant to wear or something more elaborate, there are plenty of designs available to suit your preferences and the unique qualities of your loved one.
The most common type of ash jewelry is an urn pendant. This ornate, teardrop-shaped piece of jewelry features an urn-like container that will hold a pinch of ashes. Urn pendants come in a variety of shapes and colors, from simple cylinders to intricate filigree styles that will capture the essence of your loved one.
There are also other types of ash jewelry that feature glass or crystals instead of the traditional urn-like container. These are often used to commemorate the passing of pets. They can be created in paw print designs to represent your beloved pet, or they can be created with the color of your pet’s collar for an even more personal touch.
If you prefer not to use ashes, there are alternative options for creating a memorial jewelry piece. You can also use some of the ground where your loved one was laid to rest, a bit of a burnt photo, or a scroll to fit inside a cylinder. The options are limitless, so it is important to take the time to listen to your friend or family member to determine what would be the best choice.
Choosing a design for your ash into jewelry can be overwhelming. There are many options, so it is important to take your time and match the design to the person you are celebrating. You can also add a special message or engravement to make your jewelry even more meaningful. This can include the first, middle, or last name of the person you are commemorating, their birth and death dates, or a short phrase like “Will Always Love You” or “Peace and Love.”
Once you have decided on a design for your jewelry, the process is relatively easy. You will receive a kit that will include an urn-like receptacle with instructions on how to collect a small pinch of your loved one’s ashes. You will then mail the receptacle back to us, and we will mix your ashes into the resin to create your necklace.
It is important to note that it takes a minimum of 24 hours for the ashes to set and cure in the mold. It is also recommended that you not touch the jewelry before this time. If you try to unmold it too early, the ashes will likely fall out of the bottom of the pendant and the resin will not set correctly.
Once your ash into jewelry is ready, we will ship it to you in a velvet jeweler’s gift box along with an ash collection envelope. We offer free gift wrapping upon request.
